Ashley is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Sunrise Privacy Consulting. With 10+ years of data privacy, IT and Cybersecurity program management, and GRC experience, she is passionate about data protection and exploring the sweet spot between the language of the law and the practical day-to-day application and operationalization of data protection and cybersecurity law.
Ashley honed her organizational and communications skills in the IT and Security Program Management functions. Leading a global GDPR readiness program in 2017, Ashley developed a passion for the topic and transitioned full-time into data privacy and later GRC leadership. Ashley built a privacy program from the ground up at Yum! Brands before moving to Wingstop and later Ericsson Enterprise Wireless Solutions (formerly Cradlepoint) to build and lead their privacy programs.
In addition to data privacy, Ashley has led cyber risk management, third-party risk management and PCI compliance programs. She has also led and supported NIST Cybersecurity and Privacy Frameworks, ISO-27001, HIPAA, and SOC assessments, as well as developed training and awareness programs and conducted M&A due diligence for privacy and security teams.
Ashley brings a unique perspective to privacy and cybersecurity consulting, having built, implemented and operated privacy and GRC programs and understanding the unique challenges and the solutions required to solve those challenges.
